| KISS Box Set includes magic moment for Peter Criss | ||
| - From KISS Kollector, JvP - | ||
| In the Box Set's book Peter and Ace hardly are quoted, as it's mainly Gene and Paulcommenting on the tracks, but Peter does get a chance to describe one of his magic moments in the liner notes for the MTV Unplugged version of Nothin' To Lose: "That night was a magic
moment for me. I knew immediately when Ace and I walked out that this is it, this is really the shit. And I felt real cocky and I felt scared but I felt at home. It was like, this is the way it
really should be every night of my life. It was wonderful. It was exciting to be back on-stage with the boys, the family. I grew up with these guys. It was a great time because it was the four of us
again. When I walked out and heard the crowd I got a fucking rush." |

| What did Gene or Paul say about the box set in the past? (7) | ||
| - From KISS Kollector, JvP - | ||
| Very soon the longawaited KISS Box Set should be available to the fans worldwide and since
we've already been revealing bits 'n' pieces from the liner notes as appearing in the accompanying book for a few weeks now, this is the final episode in our series called "What did Gene or Paul say
about the box set in the past?" in which we're looking back at what they have said about the box by checking out their quotes as they appeared in issues of the KISS Kollector magazine throughout the
years. However, in this last episode we don't look back at what Paul or Gene had to say about the Box Set in the past, but we check out what the editor-in-chief of KISS Kollector magazine actually
had to say about it in issue 34 (2000): I doubt if the long awaited and much talked about 'mother of all box sets', the KISS Box Set will be as awesome as especially Gene has made it look like
whenever the band (briefly) talked about it in the past - in fact, right now I doubt if there will ever be a KISS Box Set at all - and can't help but think it will be only a few CD's worth of
material that most of us die-hard KISS collectors already have in some sort of format (promo releases, bootlegs, MP 3 tracks, etc.). A decent KISS box set, in my opinion, should at least contain 10
CD's with hardly any material from all the official album releases but with lots of unreleased stuff (that preferably can't be found on bootlegs either) such as outtakes, unfinished demos, different
takes of songs that ended up on albums, remixed tracks, rejected songs (especially from Ace, Peter, Bruce and Eric), material from Peter, Ace, Paul and Gene before they met in the early 70s, weird
live versions of wellknown and lesser known KISS songs, tunes KISS covered from other bands (either live or, if recorded, in studio - such as maybe even Elvis Presley's Jailhouse Rock which
the band intended to record for the Love Gun album but then decided not to do on the album due to Elvis' sudden death that year), etc. Being the extremely visual band that KISS is, maybe they
should not so much include CD's in the box but videotapes (DVD's) featuring at least one show from each and every tour between 1972-2000 plus all the KISS related TV commercials, videoclips (along
with some unused/unedited material), etc. Plus, of course, a book featuring never before published photos from the band's own collection and this time the true, real, accurate story that should have
been KISStory. |

| Official Gene Simmons web site | ||
| - From KISS Kollector, JvP - | ||
| Although Gene isn't very fond of the Internet, at least not all the bullshit and gossip
that's going around on the Net, he now has got his own web site: GeneSimmons.com which can be accessed through - you guessed it -
http://www.genesimmons.com. Apparantly, the site had already been running for a while, featuring lots of Gene stuff, but as of now it's The Demon's official site and all the news comes directly
from movie based on the Chaos Comic title, to Dean Devlin's Electric Pictures, his presence at the premier of the From Hell movie, his upcoming Gene Simmons Tongue magazine, his
shooting of Court TV's The Sins Of Rock And Roll, his appearance at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills for the Lilie Claire Foundation and the new KISS Kondoms. Apart from a news
section, there's lots more, including a Biography, Fan Stories, Gallery, Store, Games and much more. |

| KISS Box Set includes early demos by Paul and Gene | ||
| - From KISS Kollector, JvP - | ||
| Apart from several KISS demos, the forthcoming KISS Box Set also includes an early Paul
demo as well as an early Gene demo. Stop, Look To Listen is a demo Paul recorded as a teenager back in 1968 along with Matt Rael on lead guitar and Neil Teeman on drums. In the Box Set's liner
notes Paul states: "I pretty much made the song up and wrote the lyrics on the spot. We didn't have a bass player because nobody back then played bass, so we figured you just had to play louder. It
was the first time I'd ever been in any kind of recording studio. I believe it was a two-track recording. We were like kids in a candy store. We didn't know what the hell we were doing, but we were
determined to put something down on tape for posterity." Gene's early demo, Leeta, was recorded in 1969 for Gene's then band Bullfrog Bheer. Gene wrote it when he was still living in upstate New York. Says Gene in the liner notes: "In between covers of other people's songs, Bullfrog Bheer would also perform some of my songs. Some of the early songs we performed were She, Goin' Blind, which was then called Little Lady and so on. And one of the newer songs I had written around that time was Leeta." The demo was recorded at a cheap recording studio in Brooklyn, and pretty much done in one take. "In fact, during the second verse there's a mistake but here it is in all its glory." |

| New issue KISS Kollector magazine out tomorrow | ||
| - From KISS Kollector, JvP - | ||
Although you had to miss out on updates here on KISS Kollector Online for a little while (due to the fact that our webmaster got sick) we haven't been sitting still. Far from it, to
say the least, as in the meantime we have been working hard on the new issue of KISS Kollector magazine, among other things. Last Friday, the first new update in three weeks took place, which
actually was one of the updates that we still had lying around from the last couple of weeks so it might have been 'old' news to some of you. This week you'll find some other 'old' updates that we
couldn't put online over the last three weeks, intermingled with brandnew updates. Meanwhile the November issue of KISS Kollector magazine has been printed and will be out tomorrow. Since it's our
10th Anniversary issue (and therefore features congrats messages from Gene and Eric plus others), we added no less than 8 pages (for free!) making it our biggest issue ever with 48 pages in total.
Jampacked as per usual, the new issue includes part 1 of an exclusive and revealing interview with KISS' former manager Bill Aucoin, a review of the forthcoming KISS Box Set, a discount coupon for
the Box Set (which is also downloadable through the website, see today's third newsbit), a contest to win the Konfidential ∓ X-treme Close up DVD, our annual Eric Carr Memorial Tribute
(it's also the 10th 'anniversary' of Eric's tragic death), lots of never before published live as well as offstage photos from the seventies, and much, much more. Check out the cover here (and make
sure to also check out the backcover plus the contents in our Magazine section). |

| Christmas will bring several KISS cover stories to the fans | ||
| - From KISS Kollector, JvP - | ||
| This year's Christmas will be a good one for the KISS Army, as not only can we expect the
deluxe edition of the KISS Box Set in December but there will also be a few KISS cover stories thanks to some European magazines. The December/Christmas issue of Germany's Metal Heart magazine
will be out in a few days and features a KISS cover story written by Joop from KISS Kollector Fanclub along with some never before published photos as provided by the fanclub. Next to the article
there will be bits and pieces from our Bill Aucoin interview. The Christmas issue of Holland's Aloha magazine will also feature a KISS cover story. The article will be huge, possibly 11 or 12
pages long, and will be written this week. Interviews with Paul and Gene as well as with Joop from KISS Kollector Fanclub have been set up for later this week. Aloha has been trying to run a
big KISS article for a while, but a good reason (the release of KISS Alive IV, which got cancelled) suddenly went out the window and as setting up interviews with Gene and Paul was almost
impossible, the idea was laid to rest. Until the KISS Box Set, that is. With the upcoming release of the box set, the magazine saw a good reason again to finally come up with that huge KISS article.
The issue most probably will hit newsstand in Holland by the end of the month. |

| KISS Kollector and vanLeest offer discount on KISS Box Set | ||
| - From KISS Kollector, JvP - | ||
| The standard edition of the KISS Box Set is still scheduled for a November 19 release, and
is expected to cost between 250 and 300 Dutch guilders in Holland. We'll have more news on that edition very soon. The deluxe edition of the KISS Box Set is scheduled for a December 3 release, and
will probably cost between 600 and 700 Dutch guilders overhere. For the deluxe edition, KISS Kollector Fanclub and vanLeest offer a 50 guilder discount when purchasing the Box Set in any of the 45
vanLeest stores. Click over to www.vanleest.nl to print out the coupon (or cut it out from the new issue of KISS
Kollector magazine, out this week). The record company has no confirmation on a possible third version of the KISS Box Set, the Premium Gold edition, eventhough the band has been mentioning the third
version a little while ago. |

| Paul's hip surgery mentioned in Dutch newspaper | ||
| - From KISS Kollector, JvP - | ||
Last Saturday one of
Holland's biggest newspapers, De Telegraaf, had a little piece on Paul's hip surgery and KISS' cancellation for the United We Stand benefit in Washington. According to the newspaper, a lot of
artists (including Mick Jagger, Britney Spears, Destiny's Child and KISS), cancelled their performance once they supposedly had found out Michael Jackson had a big hand in the benefit and even added
the title of his new single What More Can I Give to the Benefit's name. The article also states that KISS had another excuse to cancel their contribution to the United We Stand/What More Can I
Give benefit, being the fact that Paul Stanley underwent surgery on his hip. |

| KISS DVD's reviewed in new issue DVD World | ||
| - From KISS Kollector, JvP - | ||
The October
issue of Holland's DVD World magazine, which should be in stores just now, features no less than a full page of reviews on KISS DVD's. First, the "old" DVD The Second Coming is
reviewed, and second the double feature DVD Konfidential ∓ X-treme Close Up is being reviewed too. Both titles are being reviewed very positively and the article features a couple of great
photos from several KISS eras as well. In his second review, the author explains why there's two KISS reviews: "KISS is a big band and we know that very well here at DVD World. That's why we
review two DVD's by KISS." |

| KISS maxi single mentioned in new issue Vara TV guide | ||
| - From KISS Kollector, JvP - | ||
Next week's issue of
the Vara Gids, the TV guide by Dutch broadcaster Vara, includes a piece on KISS' biggest Dutch hit I Was Made For Lovin' You, in particular the maxi single release on blue vinyl. The
article is part of a series called "Single Club" in which readers get the chance to tell about their very first single. This time a reader explains how he went looking for the I Was Made...
single when he was 11 years old, and the song - which had been at the number 1 spot for many weeks, making it the biggest hit of 1979 in Holland - was already out of the hitparade. He couldn't find
the single, but only the Dynasty LP which he couldn't afford back then. When he was about to give up, he finally found a blue vinyl maxi single. |

| Henry Rollins thinks KISS is just awesome | ||
| - From KISS Kollector, JvP - | ||
| In the new, November/December, issue of Holland's music magazine Heaven, Henry
Rollins is interviewed and mentions KISS. In fact, he does not just mention the band, he claims he thinks KISS is just great. "You know at what show I completely lost myself last year? KISS. I never
was a fan, but when I saw them I thought: fuck, what have I been missing? Those guys are over 50 and play so well, go at it so incredibly and do it with so much more conviction than a lot of the
multi platinum bands we have opened for. And only because they love rock 'n' roll." |
