| Torpedo Girls raise money for Eric Carr's ex girlfriend Kira | ||
| - From KISS Kollector, JvP - | ||
|
Some of you might remember that KISS' late drummer Eric Carr used to produce an all-girl band in the late 80s,
called Harikira which was fronted by his then girlfriend Kira. It now appears that she is ill with cancer
and not able to pay for the necessary operations. German KISS fans are raising money to finance Kira's operations
and have the operations take place in Germany. Tributeband Torpedo Girls, from Germany, have set up a concert to
raise money for Kira at the Tankstelle in Dormagen (Germany) on August 2. The concert will be part of a KISS
Party with KISS dealers, videos, etc. Tickets cost 5 Deutsch Mark, but anybody who'd like to pay more, is
welcome to do so. As soon as enough money has been raised, Kira will be taken to Germany for an operation.

| Original 70s KISS article from Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy author | ||
| - From KISS Kollector, JvP - | ||
Last month we reported about the e-book Rock 'N' Roll Fantasy - My Life And
Times With AC/DC, Van Halen, KISS... from rock journalist/radio host
Susan Masino. The fourth chapter is entirely dedicated to KISS, and the
band - and particularly Gene - also get mentioned in the next chapter. In
the e-book the author describes her experiences at a KISS concert in December
of 1977, plus the wild after show party where she met the entire band without
their trademark make up, and how she got to interview Gene a little while
after the concert when he was working on what became his 1978 solo album.
Susan gratiously allowed us to reprint her original review of that KISS
show, which included some quotes from her interview with Gene, as it appeared
in the Emerald City Chronicle back in the late seventies. For more info on the e-book check out

| Features section on KISS Kollector Online updated | ||
| - From KISS Kollector, JvP - | ||
|
Finally our Features section has been updated again, as of today. The new
feature you'll find there is a background
article on the future of KISS,
reprinted from KISS Kollector Magazine as originally appearing in issue
34 which came out in November of 2000. When the Farewell Tour will be over
and KISS is no longer a band, what will the individual band members do to
fill their time? Will they still do things as a foursome and at least keep
the name KISS alive or are they all going to continue on their own? Will Gene make sure the merchandise assault continues or is he going to focus even more on his Hollywood career again, will Ace manage to get a decent record deal and release a solo album, will Paul succeed on Broadway and really build a career in the world of musicals, will Peter retire at his new house on Hawaii or is he going to put it off as a jazz musician, etc. etc.? For answers and even more questions, please check out the article. |

| Not pay-per-view show but future concert on DVD | ||
| - From KISS Kollector, JvP - | ||
On June 25 we reported that the New Jersey pay-per-view concert will be
released on DVD by Image Entertainment at a still unknown date. Turns out
that not the New Jersey show, but a yet to be filmed concert on the upcoming
leg of the Farewell Tour will end up on that DVD along with a compilation
of highlights from previous concerts. So, that means there have to be more
shows in the near future although a European tour still has not been confirmed.In other DVD news, the advertising campaign for the double feature special edition DVD Konfidential & X-treme Close-up has started as can been seen on the scan of the advert from this week's issue of Holland's trade paper magazine Muziek & Beeld. The full color advert appeared on the backcover of the magazine. |
