The other day we showed the great inlay (and backside of the inlay) for the
new KISS "2 on 1/double feature special edition" DVD Konfidential
& X-treme Close-up which will be released in Holland on August
16. Thanks to vanLeest recordstores and Universal Pictures Video the KISS

to members of the fanclub through the August issue of the KISS Kollector
Magazine, but the offer is already available here on KISS Kollector Online
right now. Just click here
and print out the coupon to hand it in at a vanLeest store (for addresses,
please click here).
The DVD will cost 59.48 Dutch guilders (26.99 Euro), but with the KISS Kollector

| Pay-per-view show The Last KISS on DVD later this year | ||
| - From KISS Kollector, JvP - | ||
|
The New Jersey concert that aired as a pay-per-view show in the USA, and was also broadcasted in a few other
countries, will be released on DVD. A release date is not known yet, but as it looks now it won't be in time for
the expected European Tour in October/November - so maybe the release even won't be until early 2002. Image Entertainment who also released the first ever KISS DVD The Second Coming, will be putting out this great live concert. In Holland, it will be distributed by Video/Film Express (who also took care of The Second Coming in Holland). More when we find out. |

| 2 on 1 DVD out on August 16 in Holland | ||
| - From KISS Kollector, JvP - | ||
The double feature special edition DVD of the KISS homevideos Konfidential
and X-treme Close-up that we mentioned the other day, will be released
in Holland on August 16 through the band's label Universal Pictures. Check
out the great inlay here. The only weird thing is that some, by now irrelevant, info from the original video releases has been included on the DVD artwork such as a mention of Alive III's availability and the band's old management (and of course, Sure Know Something is still listed as a '76 videoclip). Other than that, Universal Studios who're responsible for the packaging design, did a great job. Check back here real soon for a special offer, as in cooperation with Universal and vanLeest we'll be offering a 10 guilder discount on this approx 3 hour long DVD which will cost 26.99 Euro (or 59.48 Dutch guilders) without the KISS Kollector discount. |

| KISS Kasket mentioned in Dutch newspaper | ||
| - From KISS Kollector, JvP - | ||
The Wednesday, June 20 edition of Holland's nationwide newspaper De Volkskrant included a piece on the KISS Kasket
complete with a photo of the casket. The heading kind of translates into "KISS kasket also great as cooler". The article itself is pretty ironic, but not bad - except for some misinformation: it states that KISS has over half a million (instead of billion) dollars in merchandising revenue. And even the upcoming European Tour is quickly mentioned towards the end of the small article. Click on the kasket to read the full article (dutch only) |

| New e-book Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy featuring KISS | ||
| - From KISS Kollector, JvP - | ||
| Rock journalist/radio host Susan Masino just published her e-book (a book on CD-rom) called Rock 'N' Roll Fantasy - My Life And Times With AC/DC, Van Halen, KISS… which features KISS. One entire chapter is dedicated to The Hottest Band In The World, and Gene and the band also get mentioned in a few other chapters. The KISS chapter describes a typical night in 1977 at a wild KISS party, full of sex and drugs and rock 'n' roll. For a full review on the e-book, please check out the upcoming issue of KISS Kollector Magazine. Meanwhile, for more info check out www.susanmasino.com. | ||
| What about the long awaited KISS box set? | ||
| - From KISS Kollector, JvP - | ||
| The long awaited KISS box set - the mother of all box sets according to Gene - is set for release in the last quarter of 2001. No less than 80 songs have been selected according to the band. A while ago Paul stated that there will be a fancy one and a not so fancy one, probably meaning an expensive version and a slightly cheaper version. When Gene was on the Howard Stern show the other day he claimed that the box is going to be priced around $250 - let's hope he was referring to the expensive/fancy one! Before the band left for the Farewell Tour of Japan earlier this year, they had talked about the box set with record company Universal and late April the concept was green-lighted. As soon as we find out more about the KISS box set, you'll read it here. | ||
